I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist and counsellor based in Forest Row, East Sussex. I work face-to-face and on Zoom.
I believe that good therapy is founded on the relationship we form between us. In therapy I will work with you to discover the patterns you may have developed as a way to cope. Childhood patterns that, as an adult, may no longer be serving you well. Recognising an old way of being and deciding to update it can be a powerful moment and make way for new personal growth and choices. Therapy can support you in making meaning of your feelings, thoughts and behaviours. Therapy is a calm and safe space to work through things, it is a time for you.

Who I Work With
I work with individuals over 18 years old and with couples and groups. The work can be short-term or open-ended, online (Zoom) or face to face
Some of the issues I work with in individuals:
Intergenerational trauma. Anxiety and depression. Stress and burn-out. Relationship difficulties. Life crises. Low self-esteem. All aspects of perinatal mental health in both mothers and fathers. Grief, bereavement and loss. Childhood-adult trauma.
Couples:
In working with couples I use a short-term method of up to eight 1.5 hour sessions; The couple may be romantic partners or they may be father-son/mother-daughter/business partners or any other combination of two individuals who wish to work on their relationship. Choosing to come to therapy as a couple, admitting that your relationship is in trouble, can be very challenging; I work collaboratively and sensitively, using exercises and TA models to create a mixture of discussion and practical tasks in each session, aiming to support you both equally in strengthening your relationship and in gaining awareness of how each of you is contributing to the relationship dynamic.
Groups:
I facilitate groups from time to time; please enquire if you are interested in group work.

How I Work
Following your initial contact I will arrange for a short phone or Zoom conversation with you to discuss what you are looking for and see if I am able to help. You can ask me the questions that are important to you and this initial meeting will allow us both to sense if we can work together and come to an agreement on time/place and cost. All being well we would then find a mutually suitable time to meet, on a weekly basis, either on Zoom or face to face.
